Job Title: Pet Stylist / Groomer

Job Summary:
- The Pet Groomer is responsible for bathing, brushing, clipping, and scissoring pets hair.
- Maintains pets nails by clipping, grinding, or both.
- Plucks hair and cleans ears appropriately on pets.
- Provides exceptional customer service to clients.
- Provides a safe environment for pets and people.
General Accountabilities:
- Thoroughly washes, shampoos, conditions and rinses pets.
- Evaluates pets hair and physical characteristics to recommend appropriate groom.
- Cuts, trims, and styles hair using clippers, scissors, and trimmers.
- Completes add-on services such as anal gland suppression, teeth brushing, de-skunking, and de-shedding.
- Maintains a clean work area and pet salon.
- Sanitizes tools and equipment, such as scissors and combs, after each use.
- Answers phone, schedules client appointments and reservations, and completes pet check-in's.
- Receives payments from customers and tenders appropriate change.
- Actively seeks to learn new styles and techniques.
- Assist other staff members on occasion with such tasks as helping restrain an animal, helping clients with their pets, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Qualifications:
- Ability to perform basic breed standard grooms, patterns, and use the tools necessary to do so (scissors, clippers, etc.)
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn POS system utilized by the resort.
- Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to water and soaps.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
- Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to dog/cat hair and allergens.
- Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to fully communicate in English.
- Must be able to work most weekends and some holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to kneel, crawl, bend, and handle heavy equipment.
- General knowledge of dog and cat behavior.
- Must exhibit coordination, finger dexterity, & steadiness.
- Minimum 1 year experience grooming in a professional salon setting.
- Must be able to work around major holidays during busy times.
- Preferred availability on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.
